The GPs practising at Hughesdale Family Medical Centre are all trained in the general practice medicine areas listed below. Many of our doctors are also specialists in other areas such as allergies, skin cancer, or children’s health.
We also have experienced nurses, who run a fully functional treatment room.

Advice and treatment on contraception, cervical screens, sexual health, pregnancy testing, obstetric shared care, and breast checks.

Children's health checks, advice and treatment. Routine & childhood immunisations including:

Assessment, clinical support, and management of environmental allergens.
Skin checks including monitoring and regular skin-check ups.
Health checks including physical check-ups, and tests for lifestyle concerns such as diabetes and cholesterol levels.
Cancer screening, spirometry testing, audiometry testing, heart health checks and ECG.
A comprehensive health assessment is recommended between the age of 45 and 49 to identify health issues and risks of developing a chronic disease.
A comprehensive annual health check is recommended for all people aged over 75 to identify any health issues and optimise quality of life. Areas assessed may include but are not limited to lifestyle, mobility, medication, nutrition, exercise, safety in the home, care arrangements and support networks.
Corporate medicals, driving medicals, pre-employment medicals.
Medication management, regular counselling, referral to allied health providers as well as preparation and ongoing management of GP mental healthcare plans.
Management of both adult and childhood asthma. The clinic performs lung function testing (Spirometry) and desensitisation as well as developing individual Asthma Action and Management plans.
Comprehensive and individualised care for chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, and chronic pain. Care plan patients are eligible for referral to allied health providers at a subsidised cost.
Assessment of circulation for Chronic Disease Management.
Consultation, treatment, and an observed procedure for iron infusions are available, as well as prescriptions for medication related to iron infusions.
